our story

Hello we are your hosts Alan & Bonnie.

In November 2011 destiny led us to Ipswich View. We were looking for accommodation in Toodyay for an overnight stay, and as fate would have it, a cancelled booking enabled us to spend an afternoon, an evening, and a beautiful morning at the Homestead.

We just fell in love with Ipswich View and everything about it so much so that we bought it!

We settled here in June 2012 and have not looked back. It feels like we are on a holiday ourselves every day of the week, such is the atmosphere and tranquility that is Toodyay.

We thoroughly enjoy welcoming and looking after our guests, and as our Guest Book would indicate, they enjoy it too. The simple things like actually sitting back and having a chat over a cuppa or watching our guests just relaxing and taking in the views and scenery as well as beautiful sunsets adds to our pleasure.

the history

Ipswich View was established in the 1860s as a homestead for a Mr John Acton Wroth who was born in Ipswich, England in 1830. Hence the name. For the history buffs we have some fascinating documentation you can peruse on the Wroth family and where it all began.

We believe we were meant to be here…and here we are!

If you’re looking for accommodation in Toodyay, we invite you to join us and experience all there is to be had in the Avon Valley, Toodyay and our Ipswich View Bed & Breakfast.
